Yoga cure for common ailments
This video promises to improve circulation, weight loss and management of symptoms of diabetes and hypercholesterolemia. Without a medical examination, it is unclear whether it can really make, but the hosts, Lisa and Charles Matkin, come with good references.
They have taught therapeutic yoga programs at Beth Israel Hospital in New York and New York Presbyterian Medical Center, in collaboration with physicians in using yoga for people with chronic injuries and diseases to help.
The 35-minute video is designed to help you increase your metabolism, according to Matkin. The duo began training with Lisa showing movements beside a pool with an ocean in the background while Charles did the voice-overs, then they switch, then switch again. Both have a soothing voice and good form.
The training is divided into three sections. The first is to learn to control your breathing. This is a pretty basic segment, learn breathing techniques and stretching the body.
The second is for food and the case poses that are a little more difficult, as the warrior and downward dog poses.
In the third section you are working on the release of tension and relaxation.
This is a good video for all fitness levels. The movements are well explained and the advantages and application of yoga. None of the postures is very difficult, and the instructors give you the changes make the movement easier.
Power Yoga Strength for Beginners
Although the title suggests for beginners, no word of faith. This video takes you through a powerful set of attitudes collectively called the sun salutation (you learn in another video, Stamina Power Yoga for Beginners).
Then, with the mountains of Maui in the background, instructor Rodney Yee takes you through some very difficult poses such as pendulum, where the balance of your whole body to the floor with the force of your arms, and others that a good deal of upper body strength.
The training takes only 20 minutes, but your hard work in those 20 minutes. This video yoga only those reviewed here since your heart rate gets close to an aerobic rate.
Yee has a great, soothing voice and perfect form, but he never really explained the attitude or an easier way to do it. It also helps on how to build them. However, if you force the upper body, it is a great - and quick - way to a strength training without the gym.
